The trek not only rewards adventurers with panoramic vistas of some of the world’s highest peaks, including Annapurna I (8,091m) and Machapuchare (6,993m), but also takes them through charming villages, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant flora and fauna.

Starting from Pokhara, a scenic lakeside city, the journey kicks off with a drive to Nayapul (1,050m), from where the trek begins. The route passes through Ghandruk, Chhomrong, Sinuwa, Deurali, and finally Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) before returning via Bamboo and Jhinu Danda, where trekkers can relax in natural hot springs.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Nayapul & Trek to Ghandruk

  • Altitude: 1,950m
  • Duration: 6-7 hours (Drive + Trek)
  • Highlights: Beautiful Gurung village, Annapurna views, traditional culture.

We start with a short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, where our trek officially begins. The trail follows the Modi Khola River, passing lush forests, terraced fields, and small villages before reaching Ghandruk, a scenic Gurung village known for its traditional houses, local museums, and stunning views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.

Day 2: Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong

  • Altitude: 2,210m
  • Duration: 5-6 hours
  • Highlights: Rhododendron forests, traditional tea houses, Chhomrong village.

The trail ascends through forests and terraced fields, offering glimpses of Himalayan peaks. After crossing Kimrong Khola, we climb to Chhomrong, the largest Gurung settlement in the region. This beautiful village sits on the edge of a deep valley, with breathtaking views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.

Day 3: Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan

  • Altitude: 2,510m
  • Duration: 5-6 hours
  • Highlights: Stone staircases, bamboo forests, stunning waterfalls.

We descend stone staircases to cross the Chhomrong Khola before climbing to Sinuwa. The trail then winds through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests, offering a cool and peaceful trekking experience. After passing Bamboo and Himalaya, we finally reach Dovan, a quiet stop along the Modi Khola Valley.

Day 4: Trek from Dovan to Deurali

  • Altitude: 3,210m
  • Duration: 3-4 hours
  • Highlights: Himalayan landscapes, increasing altitude, serene trekking route.

The trail gradually ascends through forests and rocky paths, with the air getting thinner as we climb higher. We pass Hinku Cave, a famous landmark used by past expeditions, before reaching Deurali, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 5: Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)

  • Altitude: 4,130m
  • Duration: 5-6 hours
  • Highlights: Annapurna Sanctuary, glacier views, breathtaking sunrise and sunset.

We ascend through steep trails and glacial moraines, eventually entering the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheater surrounded by snow-capped peaks. As we reach ABC (4,130m), we are greeted with jaw-dropping 360° views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. In the evening, we enjoy a spectacular sunset over the Annapurna range.

Day 6: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo

  • Altitude: 2,345m
  • Duration: 5-6 hours
  • Highlights: Descending through lush forests, retracing the scenic route.

After witnessing a breathtaking sunrise at ABC, we begin our descent. Retracing our steps through Deurali, Himalaya, and Dovan, we reach Bamboo, a peaceful spot surrounded by dense bamboo and rhododendron forests.

Day 7: Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (Hot Springs)

  • Altitude: 1,760m
  • Duration: 6-7 hours
  • Highlights: Natural hot springs, terraced farmlands, scenic views.

We trek back through Sinuwa and Chhomrong, then descend to Jhinu Danda, famous for its natural hot springs. After a long trek, we can relax and rejuvenate in the warm waters near the Modi Khola River.

Day 8: Trek to Siwai & Drive Back to Pokhara

  • Altitude: 850m
  • Duration: 5-6 hours (Trek + Drive)
  • Highlights: Scenic countryside views, return to Pokhara.

Our final day includes a short trek to Siwai, where a private vehicle will drive us back to Pokhara. Upon arrival, we can explore the lakeside city, enjoying its vibrant cafes, Phewa Lake, and relaxed atmosphere.

Itinerary Extension Option: Explore Kathmandu and Pokhara
