Itinerary:
Day 1: Drive to Kande & Trek to Pritam Deurali
● Altitude: 2,100m
● Drive Duration: 1.5 hours
● Trek Duration: 4-5 hours
● Highlights: Scenic drive, terraced fields, forest trails
We begin our trek with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Kande, a small settlement offering breathtaking views of the Annapurna range. From here, we ascend gradually through beautiful rhododendron forests and traditional villages. Along the way, we pass through Australian Camp and Pothana, both excellent viewpoints. Pritam Deurali provides stunning mountain vistas, making it a perfect stop for the night.
Day 2: Trek from Pritam Deurali to Forest Camp
● Altitude: 2,600m
● Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
● Highlights: Dense forests, birdlife, serene environment
Leaving Pritam Deurali behind, we enter a dense forest filled with rhododendron and oak trees. The sound of birds chirping and occasional sightings of Himalayan wildlife make this section of the trek peaceful and enjoyable. The trail is mostly uphill, offering occasional glimpses of the peaks through the foliage. Forest Camp, a quiet resting point in the woods, provides a serene escape surrounded by nature.
Day 3: Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp
● Altitude: 3,150m
● Trek Duration: 3-4 hours
● Highlights: Closer views of Machapuchare, changing vegetation
As we climb higher, the vegetation starts to change, and the dense forest begins to thin out. The trail offers increasing views of Machapuchare (Fishtail) and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. We pass through small clearings where we can appreciate the beauty of the Himalayas. Reaching Low Camp, we enjoy breathtaking sunset views, with the towering peak of Machapuchare dominating the skyline.
Day 4: Trek from Low Camp to High Camp
● Altitude: 3,580m
● Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
● Highlights: Alpine landscapes, panoramic Himalayan views
The trail from Low Camp to High Camp is both challenging and rewarding. We trek above the tree line, entering rugged alpine terrain with expansive views of the Annapurna range. As we ascend, the air becomes thinner, and the temperature drops, adding to the high-altitude experience. High Camp offers one of the best viewpoints on the trek, with stunning sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas.
Day 5: Hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp & Trek Back to Low Camp
● Altitude: 4,500m (Base Camp), 3,150m (Low Camp)
● Trek Duration: 7-8 hours
● Highlights: Sunrise over Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, Machapuchare
We start early to reach Mardi Himal Base Camp before sunrise, ensuring we witness the golden glow over the snow-capped peaks. The trail is steep and challenging, but the panoramic views of Annapurna South, Machapuchare, and Hiunchuli make it worthwhile. After spending some time at the base camp, capturing photos and soaking in the breathtaking scenery, we descend back to Low Camp for a well-earned rest.
Day 6: Trek to Siding Village & Drive to Pokhara
● Altitude: 1,280m (Siding), 850m (Pokhara)
● Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
● Highlights: Traditional Gurung village, scenic landscapes
The final leg of our trek takes us through charming Gurung villages and lush green forests. The descent is gentle, allowing us to appreciate the beautiful surroundings at a relaxed pace. Siding Village is a peaceful and less crowded stop, providing a glimpse into traditional Nepalese rural life. From here, we take a private vehicle back to Pokhara, concluding our incredible adventure in the Annapurna region.
